Anyone growing gardens this year?

Post  mochicken on Tue Jun 10, 2014 11:04 am

I am growing a great garden full of non GMO heirloom plants, most of my seeds came from friends who save seeds and some came from www.rareseeds.com

I'm growing

Purple bush beans, similar to green beans but seem to get larger and easier to spot when picking
Carrots
Cilantro
Basil
Red onions
Oregano
Leaf lettuce
Cucumbers
And 13 different heirloom tomato plants

In a month or so I will be plantion more green beans, carrots, cucumbers, and lettuce for a second harvest

I planted regular slicing cucumbers not knowing that they are not great for pickles so now I guess I will be planting a few late plants for pickles. I am going to try to can pickles, green beans, salsa, tomatoes, and spaghetti sauce this year.
